  •    "Valium is a good drug.........." [02:16 pm]
As my friend Marc Unger, of the Fighting Ungers on WNST 1570 AM and co owner of Magooby's Jokehouse would say, "Valium is a good drug", and heroin is a "bad drug".  Ok, so I only now have experience with Valium, and I must admit, it is a good drug.  The good doctors provide me with a relaxing dose of this stuff just before sticking a 300 ft. needle in my back.  All I know is, I didn't care that they were doing this, and when it was over, there was no pain, or again, if there was, I really didn't care!  Fortunately, for now, I feel much, much better, and can once again walk without pain.

So, Erik Bedard is now upset that the Orioles don't want him around.  It's been widely reported that the Orioles have been unable to reach a contract agreement with him, because he doesn't want to be around.  So, which is it.  Do the O's want him or not?  Does he want to stay or leave?  Who's telling the truth.  It's a fact that Erik doesn't like to talk to the media, so he's perceived negatively by it.  Supposedly he's just a lil shy.  All I know is this, a left-hander, with his abilities and upside only come around every so often.  If you're not going to back the Brinx truck up to his front door, then deal him for all you can get.  You have gaping holes all over the diamond.  Fill some with the boatload of players you will get in return.  Is Bedard the next Johann Santana?  I don't know, and probably don't think so, but if you're going to trade him, do it now.  This team will not score runs, so he will have to pitch with the idea he's not allowed to give up any runs.  And at some point, that will come back to haunt not only him, but the organization as well.  He's certainly not Steve Carlton, who once won 27 games for a Phillies team that only lost more than 110 games.

Spring training countdown, 19 days until the new year......yippee!

    Thanks for reading.

p.s.  If you haven't checked out the Baltimore Mariner's website, do so.  They have some great news about our new team.

As far as the Orioles go, all I know is that the prettiest player is gone.  Who am I going to look at now?  I sure can't go to see them win!
